Sunday Mornings in the Sanctuary

9:45 – 10:15am

During the regular Sunday School time, EVERYONE is invited to gather in the sanctuary from 9:45-10:15am for stories and songs for all ages. There will not be separate Sunday School classes (except for Richard Strait’s adult class beginning again in late June) throughout the summer.

Eventide

Sundays + Conversation 6pm + Contemplative Vespers 7pm + Child care provided

EVERYONE is invited for Sunday evening conversation at 6pm and contemplative vespers at 7pm (lasting about 30 minutes).  All senior high youth and their parents are expected to attend, as some of our community conversation will help us get ready for the ELCA Youth Gathering in Detroit. 

Vacation Bible School

Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World!

June 22-26, 2015
8:45 a.m. to 12 Noon

Gethsemane Vacation Bible School invites all children age 3 by June 17, 2015 and including those completing 6th grade. 6th graders may also choose to assist as a volunteer. 7th graders and older are invited to sign up to assist with VBS as volunteers.

VBS daily offering of canned goods or money will support the  mission of the Gethsemane Food Pantry.

Art Exhibit Concluded

The first annual Abundant Life Art Exhibit hosted in 2015 by Gethsemane Lutheran and organized by the newly formed “Lutheran Visual Arts Council of Central Texas” held their opening reception on Tuesday, April 21st, the birthday of Gabriel Loire.

The exhibit commemorated the life and work of Gabriel Loire concluding on the evening of May 19th. The exhibit displayed art from various local artists including James Janknegt, Jenna BrunsJose Blanco, Clare Andrus and Pehr Smith in addition to celebrating the stunning stained-glass art of Gabriel Loire in the Gethsemane sanctuary.

For information about the Lutheran Visual Arts Council, contact  Pehr Smith, Clare Andrus, Pastor Gronberg or Intern Sharolyn Browning.

Special thanks to the members of the committee and those persons  having assisted with the two receptions. The committee was honored by the participation of George Wendlandt, Ron Tigue, Dean Zellmer for their reflections on implementing the stunning art work in the Gethsemane sanctuary.

Abundant Life Art Exhibit

The ABUNDANT LIFE Art Exhibit is open every Tuesday evening from 6-8pm beginning April 28th through May 12th.  Drop by and see the beautiful work of James Janknegt, Jenna Bruns, Clare Andrus, Pehr Smith, and the mosaic by Jose Blanco.  Mark your calendar for the closing reception on the evening of May 19th.

Youth Dinner Theatre

Saturday, April 25th.  Lane Holmstrom has created another hysterically funny original play, “Senseless”.

Dinner at 5pm; Show at 6pm

Funds raised support Gethsemane youth during their summer trip to the national youth gathering in Detroit, Michigan.  Silent & Live Auctions, Door Prizes, Delicious Meal and our Talented Youth onstage! See you there!!
