In the United States, almost half of adults will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. When families are struggling with mental health conditions the first place they call is the church, yet churches are often lacking the information and resources needed to help. Gethsemane Austin wants to change that.
Thanks to a grant from the ELCA, Gethsemane launched a Mental Health Ministry with a goal of promoting healthy living in spirit, mind and body. Gethsemane partners with NAMI Central Texas to provide free education and support for mental health.
